Inflatable Canoe Safety

Taking an inflatable canoe down a river is a fun and healthy activity. Regardless of your level of experience, you must keep safety at the forefront. Nothing can spoil your outdoor experience faster than an accident. Always wear a life jacket or flotation device. It is often impossible to tell what lies under the water beneath your inflatable canoe. Spiel can easily cause you to strike your head and be rendered unconscious. In fact, you don’t even have to be unconscious to be unable to swim. Another common mistake people sometimes make on the water is failing to bring enough fresh water. Be sure you put freshwater in your inflatable canoe to keep you well hydrated along the river. The dangers of heat exhaustion, hyperthermia, and dehydration can be avoided by simply packing extra drinking water in your inflatable canoe. Always remember that no matter how much fun you have on the water you must keep safety first.
