Over the past year or so mobile phone retailers have really started pushing inducements and incentivised deals in order to close the deal with increasingly demanding customers. As the cost of handsets has fallen, the offer of a free mobile phone in itself is no longer enough to get customers to sign up. Now mobile phones are offered with free laptops, or a range of other gifts to try and get them to sign up to 12 or 18 month contracts respectively. These deals are available either if the customer takes out an expensive contract, or by way of compensation if the customer accepts and older handset which the retailer is trying to sell. Laptops are regularly offered on so called “clearance mobile phones” and these are often the best buy. If you are willing to forgo some of the latest features and styling offered on the very latest models, you can pick up an end of line mobile phone which is still feature packed, with the added bonus of a free laptop!
